The Nelson Mandela Bay iHub focuses on technologies that have the potential for disrupting existing value chains to facilitate market access whilst contributing to social development.

This is done through a focus on educational technology, smart agriculture, automation and robotics, big data analytics, cloud computing, robotics and artificial intelligence, AR & VR, Cyber Security . The incubation programme is divided into three phases and the incubatees progress to the next stage only when they have graduated, ensuring that only committed business owners continue to benefit from the resources of the Nelson Mandela Bay iHub.

The selection criteria for being part of the iHUB is very stringent and focuses on prioritising technology start-ups with products that have a potential for a disruptive effect. Technology commercialisation is at the centre of the iHUB's work with a focus on development of technology products that have potential for success

The iHub will also offer a wide range of business templates and financial models to entrepreneurs. These also assist with business planning and conducting feasibility studies on projects.
